The Everglades Corporate Park plans to build a 10-story hotel and office building next to Sunrise Boulevard west of the Sawgrass Expressway. They've already had development approval, but Sunrise commissioners are voting today to grant or deny permission to build a bigger project. Environmentalists are upset, claiming that the developers are taking it too far and plan to protest during the meeting. Assistant Deputy Mayor Sheila Alu, the only member to vote against their tentative approval, said, "One spill could affect our drinking water and all the life in the Everglades."

"Statistics show scoring fashionable again in NBA"
Art Garcia shows how the NBA has seen an increasing scoring trend since the turn of the millennium. This trend could explain the NBA's evergrowing popularity since two of the most popular teams are the high-scoring Suns and Lakers (1st and 3rd in PPG, respectively).

The North Star Karate Dojo has implemented an interesting new idea into their training regiment. Instead of using the board-breaking technique for training, it is used for punishment. Whenever the pupils misbehave and/or fail to do their moves correctly, they are forced to smash their head or hand into a wooden board or cement block.
